White Noise Sound

Assembled in Swansea, Wales in 2006, White Noise Sound isolated themselves from all around them while they conjured their own particular wall of sound - at once relentlessly pulsating and blissed-out.

The band’s white-label demos quickly began to incite label and media attention, receiving airplay in the UK (from the likes of Steve Lamacq and Bethan Elfyn at BBC Radio 1), Europe and the US.

After honing their craft across the UK and through Europe - with the likes of Super Furry Animals, The Warlocks, Spectrum, Mark Gardener (Ride) and members of Spacemen 3, Spiritualized and The Brian Jonestown Massacre - the six-piece completed their debut album in 2010 with the assistance of Pete Kember (Spacemen 3 / Spectrum / E.A.R) and Cian Ciaran (Super Furry Animals).

Released by cult California-based label Alive Records (whose back-catalogue includes releases from The Black Keys, Beachwood Sparks, Iggy Pop and James Willamson and The Soledad Brothers) in 2010 (US) / 2011 (UK), the eponymous debut was greeted with widespread critical acclaim and WNS toured through Europe in its support.

2011 / 2012 saw the band collaborate with Belfast producer and techno DJ Phil Kieran, the product of which was a Beatport chart-topping single - with remixes by the likes of Maya Jane Coles - and a live show at the MTV European Music Awards fringe festival in Belfast.

2015 sees the return of the Welsh psychedelicists with their second album ‘Like a Pyramid of Fire’ . Working closely with Phil Kieran and again with Cian Ciaran, WNS have taken their trademark wall of sound and raised from it a sonic palette with depth and range.  'Like a Pyramid of Fire' is a metronomic and hypnotic onslaught of melody, groove and exploration which goes beyond the standard tropes of psychedelia.
