    Closing their 15th anniversary triptych of releases, ‘The Circle is Red’ is a full-length visceral document of sonic alchemists White Noise Sound (WNS): captured during the band’s European shows in 2011, where their hypnotic rituals of distortion, repetition and drone reached transcendence.

    Featuring standout moments from Paris, Bordeaux and Gda?sk, the album distils the raw power and expansive dreamscapes that came to define WNS live.  From the opening overridden 808 beats and oscillating pulses, through mind-stretching walls-of-sound and into the kosmiche bliss of ‘Sunrise’ - a never-before-released final act of ascension - the music roars and melts through cavernous reverb and deep-space echoes:

    “Our shows always felt like a transmission from somewhere outside ourselves.  We were never fully in control.  Play this record loud”, say the band.

    Having earned admiration from psychedelic icons like Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) and Bobby Hecksher (The Warlocks), as well as from electronic visionaries including Andrew Weatherall and his Scrutton Street circle, Daniel Avery and Phil Kieran - ‘The Circle is Red’ follows the reissue of WNS’s cult debut album and the subsequent transmutational remix LP in 2025.

    During their rare appearances, WNS shared stages across the UK and Europe with The Jesus and Mary Chain, Weatherall, Super Furry Animals, Spectrum, The Warlocks, Daniel Avery and members of Orbital, Ride, Spacemen 3, Spiritualized and The Brian Jonestown Massacre - making this a fitting close to a triptych that acts as both a time capsule and a revelation.

    ‘The Circle is Red’ offers a rare glimpse into the elemental energies of WNS at their heaviest and most ecstatic - an unbounded force from the arcane depths of British neo-psychedelia, and a reminder of what it means to lose yourself in the noise.
