    Marking fifteen years since its original release, 'Sunset' is the lead single from sonic alchemists White Noise Sound’s (WNS) acclaimed self-titled debut album, reissued by Rocket Girl Records in July 2025 - the first transmission in a triptych of releases.

    The track stands as the band’s most potent manifestation of their “flat-on-your-back, silver-foil-over-the-windows, opiated roar” (Word), weaving overridden 808 beats and oscillating pulses, with an explosive wall of visceral distortion and a ritualistic chant to the setting sun.

    Emanating from the mandala-spin of the dream machine, 'Sunset' rises from psychic fracture, through hypnotic trance and into an ecstatic surge of saucer-pupiled transcendence.

    Recorded with the assistance of luminaries Pete Kember (Sonic Boom / Spacemen 3 / Spectrum) and Cian Ciarán (Super Furry Animals / Das Koolies), WNS's 2010 debut was conjured in the isolation of the Welsh mountains, where they channelled their own particular wall-of-sound - at once relentlessly pulsating and blissed-out.

    Endorsed by psychedelic icons and electronic visionaries alike - from Bobby Hecksher (The Warlocks) to Daniel Avery, Phil Kieran and Andrew Weatherall’s Scrutton Street circle - the track has become a cult artefact.
